Along with investing, retiring in Merida can be very enjoyable with a city so rich in culture and entertainment activities. Merida has many ecological and Mayan pyramid/ruin sites throughout the entire Yucatan peninsula. The oceanfront villages and cities are located within short drives on the Gulf of Mexico as well as the Mexican Caribbean side. The famous pink flamingos and cenotes are state famous and can be visited very easily. For the not so extreme and adventurous retired person, Merida has many concerts, plays, and art exhibits. Finally, movies and restaurants are found in several new malls that have been constructed over the past 3- 5 years.
Whether you are searching in Merida for retirement purposes, or to simply invest in real estate, there are plenty of opportunities given the proximity to the USA and the ease of travel to this city and their international airport.
